Ray Smith is beginning to command attention as one of Canada’s most promising writers. His work has been published by Maclean’s, Tamarack Review, Prism and Journal of Canadian Fiction and his short stories have been included in eight major anthologies.
Smith’s previous book, Cape Breton is the Thought Control Centre of Canada, was recognized as one of the best Canadian books published in 1969.
He was born in 1941 in Cape Breton and graduated from Dalhousie University. He currently lives in Montreal which he describes as “a beautiful city and the home of the world’s most beautiful women”.
