CLARA THOMAS is Associate Professor in the Department of English at York University. She took her B. A. and M. A. degrees at the University of Western Ontario and her Ph. D. at the University of Toronto. Author of such books as Canadian Novelists, 1920-1945 and Love and Work Enough: The Life of Anna Jameson, editor as such works as Mrs. Jameson’s Winter Studies and Summer Rambles in Canada and Catherine Parr Traill’s The Backwoods of Canada, Dr. Thomas has also published numerous articles in journals and anthologies.
