WILLIAM NEW received his M. A. from the University of British Columbia and his Ph. D. from Leeds. He has had articles published in such periodicals as Canadian Literature, Queen’s Quarterly and Twentieth Century Literature. He is an assistant editor of Canadian Literature and is on the Advisory Board of the Association of Commonwealth Literature. Mr. New resides in Vancouver and teaches English at U.B.C.
